Orangutan Mother
A mother Bornean Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) lovingly clutches her precious offspring in Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, Sabah, Malaysia. Due to habitat loss, largely to make way for palm-oil plantations, Bornean Orangutans have been reduced to a fragmented and critically endangered population, meaning that every infant orangutan born is a beacon of hope for the species.
